It is a Hotel (Pub) Getting old but the room was large, and very clean. A nice Balcony (not much view) but fresh air. Limited parking, but evening street parking. A quiet but nice area, not too far from everything Being a "Pub" it has TAB, Pool Room, Bar, Meals, Pokies. Very Good Value.

We have previously stayed at the Metro Hotel Tower Mill and once again found the staff to be very obliging, and friendly.

Very comfortable with everything at your fingertips. Staff were extremely helpful with all requests. Wish we had known about this motel on previous visits to Brisbane.

"Nice" Guest Review of Metro Hotel Tower Mill - Brisbane Hotel Reviews

I stayed at the Tower Mill last year as it was opposite where our tour was to leave from.

I booked an executive room and I was pleased with the room, especially my view of the tower mill itself and the city beyond. The room was small but suitable for one person.

The breakfast was very nice but make sure to read the menu properly - I ordered extras with my bacon and eggs and ended up paying $36 for breakfast! Woops. All said and done - I would stay here again if I was on my own.

If travelling with my husband or family, I would choose somewhere with larger rooms.

“Great Hotel” - Metro Hotel Tower Mill, Brisbane

My husband and I stayed at this hotel late March at the start of holidays, we were greeted very warmly by Manager Allan Hilt & his staff, everything at the hotel was great, room was terrific, good rates, wonderful views, they have a restaurant & bar.

Allan was checking on transport to the airport for us and came and found us and told us what he found out about the coach, it was too early in the morning so we decided to go by Airtrain, we bought the tickets there with a saving of $1.50 each.

We caught a taxi to and from the station to the hotel cost around $10, thanks to Allan and his staff for such a pleasant experience.

To Post or Not to Post - 'Get it in writing' - Hotel Reviews

It’s a phrase one often hears when guarding against legal action, its also a physical affirmation of something positive or constructive, but when it comes to hoteliers, 'getting it in writing' has a more nuanced meaning.

Ever since the first hotels and temporary lodging facilities arose, hoteliers have had to weigh the advantages and disadvantages of their most valued resource: their customers – especially when it came to the delicate world of written feedback.

But what was once relegated to a quaint leather-bound book on the corner of some concierge desk has expanded exponentially. First came widespread travel publications that would print with equal care both positive and negative reviews.

Today, those efforts seem decidedly quaint as social media and the increasingly ubiquitous nature of mobile and smartphone technology allows current and former guests unparalleled commenting access – without the filter of a publisher. While it’s easy for hoteliers to remain skeptical over such unfettered open access, the benefits of “going social” for hoteliers far outweigh the risks.

The logic behind this embrace is simple. The proverbial Pandora’s box has already been opened. Former and future guests alike are already posting their opinions on sites like Facebook and Twitter about their travel experience, beginning with the initial booking and following through all aspects of the travel cycle including: dreaming, researching, experiencing and sharing.

In addition, user generated content sites like TripAdvisor, and online travel agencies like Expedia and Priceline, among many others, are similarly embracing user comments. If hoteliers are concerned about losing control of their messaging, the best way to track what’s being said about their hotel is by promoting a guest shift from private and independent site postings to include the more controlled public arena of a hotel website or its affiliated Facebook or Twitter page.

Recognizing the inevitability of this trend, a growing number of hotels are already jumping on board. Earlier this month Marriott Hotels announced it would allow guests from several of its locations, (Marriott Marquis in New York and the Marriott Courtyard near Orlando, among others) to post comments about their stay regardless of the quality of their experience. The announcement follows a similar move by Starwood Hotels & Resorts that also began allowing their preferred customers the ability to post comments directly to their website.

To be sure, hotels that choose this route require a firm commitment and necessary web-savvy staffing. In other words, it can’t be done half way. Whether or not Marriott’s open-access approach or Starwood’s more limited approach is best for online guest reviews remains to be seen.

Good location but near the top of the hill, so you have to climb to go there. Very bad reception. Cleanliness of the bathroom inadequate. Too expensive for what it is.

I thoroughly enjoyed, the outlook, privacy and pwace. It was close enough to CBD to walk but it was also located close enough to most public transport. The front desk staffas well as the restaurant staff were most helpful and pleasant. The range of food offered was good and was well presented. Althogether a very pleasant stay. Sue Ryan

When I read the history of this hotel I expected the room may not so clean and old. Surprised! when I came to the room the bed and sheet is very new. Everthing in the room are new. The reception said that this hotel just renewed a few years ago. I am a kind of good luck person that I found this hotel. Anyway, there is no bath in the bathroom. It s ok for me to help Brisbane safe the water and environment! I am very appreciated with your hotel....Metro Tower Mill in Brisbane.
